A good starting point in any situation when seeking information on an individual is a basic background investigation. This background search should cover residence history and current address, criminal history, possible employment information, possible relatives, phone numbers and an assortment of other things.

This will give you a starting point so you can then go and look further into different specialized areas. For example, if you find that someone has some kind of criminal history then it may be a good idea to then go search the court records to get the whole story of that conviction. If you find that someone moves around a lot then depending on your reason for the search this may play a part in your decision making procedure.

There are a whole lot of "background check" web sites out there. Just do a Google search and look at the thousands of results. This is the Background Search web site that I use most often. I think it has the most comprehensive information and it is the most user friendly. A quick word of warning, some of the other sites out there are like trying to navigate through a rat maze of information.
